February 4, 2017-March 18, 2017
Reception - Saturday, February 4, 2017, 7pm – 10pm
The world's major religions all have similar themes of the world coming to an end, signaled by an unimaginable battle, a period of intense turmoil and chaos, leading eventually to messianic redemption. In addition to the major religions, some groups, movements and uprisings that have eschatology at the core, catalyze these beliefs into an outright revolt. End-of-the-world beliefs encompass struggles with mortality, group fates, connectedness and inform utopian/dystopian philosophies.
Curated by Dawne Langford, Revelation/Revolution, is an exploration of these themes from a variety of mediums and cultural experiences, bringing to light how an end informs our past, present, and future. Join us at Olly Olly on Saturday, February 4, 2017, 7pm-10pm for an evening with artists:

Revelation/Revolution is a partnership between Olly Olly and Quota, a curatorial initiative led by Dawne Langford, dedicated to broadening cultural diversity in public discourse around artistic creation and representation. Olly Olly is an alternative art space founded by Jessica Kallista in 2014, providing a home-base for supporting exceptional and avant-garde regional artists to creatively explore outside of the realms of traditional art models.
Olly Olly wants to nourish the body and the community as well. We will be collecting healthy non-perishable food items for the Food Bridge Program at Britepaths, which provides short-term emergency food assistance to Fairfax County area residents who are in crisis. We encourage you to bring a healthy non-perishable food item to donate. The Food Bridge Program is most in need of cooking oil, brown rice, dried beans, canned fruit in its own juices, canned tomato products and pasta sauce.
Olly Olly, located at 10417 Main Street, 2nd Floor in Fairfax, VA, is open for special events and by appointment. Revelation/Revolution will be on view at Olly Olly from February 4, 2017 through March 18, 2017. Please call 703-789-6144 for more information.
